Established in 1927 at 33 West Market Street in Wilkes-Barre, PA, M. Abraham Importers specialized in fine imported Persian Rugs. A family business, M. Abraham eventually expanded their business to include flooring installation while still offering quality oriental rugs. M. Abraham Importer was established in 1927 at 33 West Market Street in Wilkes-Barre, PA by the late M. Abraham. Mr. Abraham specialized in fine imported Persian rugs.
In 1974, Ali Kazimi began working for his great uncle (our late founder, Mr. Abraham) and in 1989, purchased the business from his estate. In 1992, Ali began a partnership with N. Ben Chafieian Oriental rugs, located at 32 East 31st Street in New York City, to increase the availability of fine antique rugs imported from Iran (Persia).
Ali’s son, Hussein Kazimi joined the business in 2008 and expanded it’s services to focus on commercial & residential flooring contracting. Ali Kazimi continues to run the M. Abraham Oriental Rug Importer at their Wilkes-Barre, PA location to provide customers fine imported carpets from India, China and Pakistan. With a focus on quality and service, M. Abraham currently offers installation and design services to customers from around the region.
